Friday 4th July
Happy Friday!
We started the week with our Meet the Teacher event, which gave the children a chance to get to know their new teacher and begin settling into their new classrooms. As part of the session, pupils took part in a fun ‘get to know you’ activity and explored all the fantastic learning experiences they’ll enjoy in the year ahead. It was lovely to see the excitement building as they looked forward to their next chapter.
On Tuesday, we welcomed our new Reception children and their families for a Stay and Play session. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to explore their new classroom, take part in a range of engaging activities, and begin forming new friendships. We also enjoyed meeting parents and carers and beginning to build those all-important home-school partnerships.
Year one enjoyed a fascinating trip to the Dudley Canals on Wednesday, where they rode on a boat through the caves and learned all about traditional boat art. They each made their own decorative lace plates, which they proudly brought home to share with their families.
On Thursday, year three had an exciting journey on several trains—including a ride on a steam train on the Severn Valley Railway—as part of their geography and history learning. The children had a brilliant day, and we were especially proud to hear several compliments from members of the public about their impeccable behaviour. Well done, year three!
Year five had their moment to shine this week as well, showcasing their learning about space in a brilliant class exhibition. They wowed their adults with their in-depth knowledge and also impressed everyone with their musical talents, including a fantastic performance on the glockenspiels. It was a true celebration of their hard work and creativity!
As we head into the final two weeks of term, there is still lots to look forward to. From end-of-year celebrations to exciting classroom activities, the children have many special moments ahead.
We look forward to seeing you all on Monday morning!
