Friday 16th May
Happy Friday!
A huge well done to our year six children who completed their SATs this week! We are incredibly proud of the way they approached each test with resilience, focus, and a fantastic attitude. They truly took the week in their stride and did us all proud.
This is what the children had to say about SATs week:
“Breakfast club was amazing as we could have as much toast as we wanted!”
“I enjoyed the extra breaks we got as I felt they really allowed us to focus afterwards.”
“The arithmetic test was my favourite one as it was challenging but in a good way!”
“There were lots of adults to support us and ensure we were okay.”
“The biscuits and ice lollies really helped us all to get through!”
A big thank you also goes to the whole school community for supporting them so brilliantly—from the fantastic team of staff who prepared breakfast for the children and made sure everyone started the day right, to staff and children helping maintain calm and quiet around school to create the best environment for success. It really was a team effort!
With the tests now behind them, year six have been full of excitement as they begin rehearsals for their end-of-year production. There’s already a buzz of creativity in the air, and we can’t wait to see what they bring to the stage!
Meanwhile, our year two pupils enjoyed a fantastic day out at the Black Country Living Museum today. They had a brilliant time exploring this fascinating period in history and discovering how it connects to their current learning. It was a memorable experience that brought the past to life in such a meaningful way.
In other news, our Summer Family Festival will take place on Wednesday 25th June and we will send out more details nearer the time. If anyone would like a stall at the event, please collect a form from the school office. This event raises additional funds for the school to provide extras for our children that enhance their enjoyment of the curriculum and are always well supported - thank you.
The lovely warm weather over the past week has certainly been a nice surprise and it has been wonderful to see the children arriving in their summer uniforms, ready to enjoy the sunshine. Just a reminder about our uniform expectations:
· Charcoal grey trousers or skirt (these should be tailored and skirts of a suitable length)
· White Polo shirt
· Royal blue jumper or cardigan (these can be purchased from the school office if you wish to have the school logo on them)
· Headscarves in grey, black or royal blue
· Hair accessories in white, royal blue, grey or black
· Socks or tights in plain white, royal blue, grey or black
· Plain black shoes or white, blue or black sandals during the summer (plain black trainers are permitted)
· Summer dresses are to be royal blue and white for the summer
· Charcoal grey tailored shorts during the summer
Please ensure that any sandals your child wears to school have a strap that secures them around the ankle, so they can run around safely at playtime. For safety reasons, Crocs are not permitted.
Have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing you on Monday morning!
