Friday 13th June
Happy Friday!
What a strange week it has been, weather-wise! It seems the skies can’t quite decide whether to shine brightly or pour with rain. Despite the unpredictability outside, it has been a wonderfully busy and productive week in school.
This week, our fantastic year one children completed their statutory phonics assessments. We are so proud of each and every one of them for the progress they have made. A huge thank you to all the parents who have been practising at home — your support makes such a difference. Well done, year one!
We are also incredibly grateful for the generous donations we received for our upcoming Summer Family Festival. There was certainly no shortage of chocolate and biscuits arriving at school this morning! Thank you to all the families who contributed.
Today’s non-uniform day was a vibrant occasion. It has been lovely to see the children wearing clothes that reflect their culture and heritage, proudly sharing their identity with friends and staff.
We have sent a letter via ParentMail today reminding families about the importance of good attendance. This final half term is a vital period in the school year. Teachers are working hard to ensure the curriculum is fully covered while also preparing children for the transition to their next year group. Every day in school matters — even small amounts of missed time can affect a child’s progress, friendships, and overall confidence.
Just a reminder that out Sports day event is on Wednesday 18th June. Depending on the year group, it will be held on either the top field or in our EYFS garden:
9:15am – Nursery am and Beech Class (EYFS garden)
9:15am – Year 3 and 4 (Top field)
10:15am – Year 5 and 6 (Top field)
2:15pm – Nursery pm and Willow Class (EYFS garden)
2:15pm – Year 1 and 2 (Top field)
We look forward to seeing you there to cheer all the children on!
Have a lovely weekend!
