Friday 2nd May

Happy Friday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter break! It was lovely to welcome the children back on Monday, many proudly showing off fresh haircuts, new water bottles, and smart summer uniforms.

The warm weather made for a cheerful return, although by Thursday, quite a few children were ready for cooler days again!

This week, our year six children impressed us all during their mock SATs. Their resilience, focus, and determination have truly blown us away—well done, year six! They now have another week of revision next week before the real SATs the week beginning the 12th May.

On Wednesday, year five had an early start, arriving at school by 8:00am ready for their exciting trip to the Leicester Space Centre. They had a fantastic day exploring the wonders of space, with the planetarium experience being a firm favourite. The immersive show transported them into outer space, giving them a taste of what life is like as an astronaut. Staff were full of praise for the children's exemplary behaviour, and although they returned tired at 4:30pm, they brought back some unforgettable memories.

Across the school, we’ve seen some stunning starts to our new learning experiences. Year one enjoyed a joyful afternoon of water play on Tuesday, featuring our brand-new water sprinkler—thank you, Mr Weston, as well as other water related activities. Year four turned into budding archaeologists, searching the school grounds for hidden clues to kick-start their latest learning adventure.

It’s been a wonderful start to the term, and we look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday morning. Enjoy the long weekend!
