End of Autumn Term One Oct 26
Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been a busy and productive start to the academic year, and we are incredibly proud of how well the children have settled into their new classes and routines. We have included a moment from each year group that the children have enjoyed this half term:
Nursery - Through the story Elmer, the children have explored colours and emotions, helping to develop their communication, language and emotional understanding.
Reception - The outdoor provision has been particularly popular, with children enjoying daily opportunities to learn and play in the garden.
Year 1 - The children thoroughly enjoyed their Lego workshop, where they worked collaboratively to create buildings and roads as part of their Design and Technology learning.
Year 2 - In History, the children have enjoyed studying the history of Olive Hill, providing a valuable opportunity to connect with their local heritage.
Year 3 - Last week's visit to the safari park was a particular highlight and provided a fantastic opportunity to bring their science learning to life.
Year 4 - The children have been highly engaged in practical subjects, particularly Science and Art, where hands-on learning has helped deepen their understanding and creativity.
Year 5 - The children are thoroughly enjoying their music unit, enthusiastically singing ‘Living on a Prayer’ and beginning to use glockenspiels with growing confidence.
Year 6 - The children are particularly enjoying the sentence-level sessions, where they confidently discuss how effective writing is constructed.
Well done to Pear class who was this half term’s class attendance competition winner. Cherry class came in second place, and Pine class came in third place. All these classes were excited to wear their own clothes to school today.
